givebutter.com/YVH9SBDolly is NOW AVAILABLE for Guardianship to Adoption! Click here to read her profile!
Dolly came to DPDR on Saturday September 2nd! Her Mom (who has had Dolly since she was a puppy) has Terminal Stage 3 Breast and Ovarian Cancer. She wanted Dolly to come to DPDR so that she could focus on her treatments. Dolly is 8 years young going on 9 this coming January 2024. Dolly has continued to come out of her shell each and every day under the care of Kelley (Board President) and is starting to eagerly come up for lots of loves! Continue to watch our Facebook page for more updates!
Dolly is so loved! It is an absolute blessing to be able to bring peace of mind to her Mom. If you'd like to make a Donation for Dolly's continued care, please click here.

A message from the President:

Welcome to a NEW Dane Rescue! I'm so excited to share this new Logo!
My name is Kelley Gaul-Houser and I am thrilled to introduce myself to you. I have 12+ years of experience working with Great Danes. I have a deep passion for these majestic dogs and have dedicated my time and efforts to their rescue and care. And YES that is me above with our 4 Danes of my Pack of 6 kiddos in my home!
I am the Small Business Owner of Dog Paws Boarding Resort, LLC. (a.k.a "The Crib") in Cedar Rapids, IA. This Summer 2023 will mark my third year of owning and operating my DREAM business. As a small boutique Boarding facility I pride myself on providing the highest quality and safety of care to all those who call Dog Paws home!
In June 2023, Dog Paws Boarding Resort, LLC. started a new 501 3c non-profit called Dog Paws Dane Rescue. The Dog Paws Dane Rescue (DPDR) mission is to provide compassionate care and support for Great Danes whose owners have passed away or are facing a terminal illness.
After much consideration, the Board and I we are thrilled to announce the launch of our new program within our Rescue, Dane Haven, which extends our support to families facing challenging times, such as when a family member is hospitalized or undergoing a mental health crisis. We understand that unforeseen circumstances can arise, leaving families in need of temporary respite care for their beloved Great Danes and we want to help these families through our Dane Haven program. We provide the Danes with the love and attention they deserve during trying times and hopefully provide family members peace of mind and support while working towards getting their companion back!
